Yes, selling the fat cow after 6-8 weeks provides the money for the new cow, the food to be bought in advance, the necessary vaccinations and of course the profit for the family.
Profit varies over the year, cow-meat prices have seasons, but overall the family is getting an additional income of app. 35$ a month. This doesn´t sound a lot. But a lot of the families in the rural area dont have income at all. They live of the land.
